Important Personal Property Information Below


 Oil and Gas renditions have been mailed. They must be returned by April 1 to avoid penalty. Please remember to have updated division orders  attached to the rendition for correct processing.   See above link for the oil and gas guide. 

                   
                      

If you purchase or sell a watercraft, you must notify our office of this change on or before  Dec. 20th  to receive proration of value and taxes.

            Real Estate Notices
Real estate Valuation Notices will be mailed on Feb. 28, 2014. The 2014 values will reflect the upward trend in real estate sales prices. If you do not agree with the value on your notice, you will have 30 days to notify us to schedule an appeal. The appeal will be scheduled during the 8 to 5 work day, however we accommodate those who need a  later time or phone hearing. Documentation you can provide for the hearing: Pictures to document damage or needed repair, both interior and exterior; recent fee appraisal; recent listing of property for sale; recent sale information.
Please be prepared to bring or email information -  documentation is essential in determining values that may vary from our market driven values.

The Appraiser’s Office is responsible for the appraisal of all residential and commercial real estate, personal property, and oil and gas in the county. This office also provides GIS mapping services for the public as well as county, city, state and federal offices.

Information is updated annually at the time of certification to the County Clerk. Sales are updated quarterly. Any taxpayer may request sales information within their classification if they are considering an appeal of their property.

 

Sales: In order to verify information on sales that occur in the county, buyers, sellers, and agents are called by our staff. Questions about the sale will include how marketed, conditions of the sale agreement, and condition of property at the time of sale. Additional questions will be asked about the property and a field inspection will follow by appraisal field staff. We thank you for your cooperation.
