Basic Requirements From Register of Deeds
Require all documents to be originally signed and notarized /acknowledged with appropriate legal descriptions. All names to be typed or printed under signatures on all documents. Sufficient space at top or bottom of first page for recording of Register of Deeds Stamps (maximum 7 ½ x 2 ½ ) otherwise will be put on back of document and there will be an additional page fee.
The document shall be sufficient legibility to produce a clear and legible reproduction.
The Register of Deeds may reject any document, which is not of sufficient legibility.
Appreciate appropriate postage on return envelope.
Requires a one part Sales Validation Questionnaire form unless meeting the requirements of K.S.A. 79-1437e(a) exceptions, which exception must be typed on deed.
Document should refer to the original mortgage stating names, legals and Book & Page.
Oil & Gas Releases/Assignments
Document should refer to recording data of original lease.
According to K.S.A. 42-258 a $1.00 fee will be assessed for failure of notary to type or print their name under signature.
